Planibel Low-E glass

Large insulating glass units from FGI’s Everseal IG range, featuring AGC’s Planibel Low-E glass were installed to help create a modern, bright learning environment at Cults Academy, a new school in Aberdeen. Everseal was awarded top marks for speed and accuracy, according to the firm, supplying around 1000 m² of IG units up to 2.4 m x 2.6 m in six weeks. The new building maximises natural light for pupils and staff.
The units are said to combine superb visual clarity with the high energy-efficiency ratings currently required. The units produced for this project were assembled from 8.8 mm Top N+ laminated glass from the Planibel range, 12 mm warm edge TPS, and 10.8 mm Clear laminated glass.
Top N+ is a high light-transmission, low-emissivity glass designed for use in double-glazing units. It is claimed to offer thermal insulation up to 1.1 U-value, with argon gas filling in the cavity.
