Over ten years ago 3M developed the revolutionary 9300 series disposable particulate respirator to help protect the respiratory health of people exposed to particulate hazards in the workplace such as dusts, mists and metal fume. Today, the 9300 series combines 3M’s own patented technologies to offer state-of-the-art protection and a cutting edge design for maximum performance, comfort and usability. The 3M Advanced Electret Filter Material combines the benefits of both mechanical and electrostatic filters. This means lower breathing resistance coupled with excellent quality. The 3M Cool Flow Valve allows exhaled air to escape more easily – particularly beneficial in hot and humid conditions – meaning the respirator is comfortable to wear even after long periods of time.
Techonology company 3M has launched a range of posters in Polish, highlighting the risks migrant construction workers are potentially posing to their health by failing to wear appropriate hearing and respiratory protection.
A new range of window film for commercial customers has been launched by 3M with the production of the Prestige multi-layer optical film.
Multiple layers are engineered so the effect of the combined layers can be tuned to be spectrally selective. This means visible light is let through and the heat rejected, particularly infra red, with up to 97% of these rays not let through the glass. Window films also block up to 99.9% of the sun's harmful uv rays, which are the largest cause of fading.
The new Prestige films have no metal in the construction and consequently have no risk of edge corrosion.
