A four storey Victorian building in Glasgow used a wireless fire detection system by Aico to have its fire detection coverage significantly increased. The nature of the RadioLINK interconnect system ensured that none of the decor would be destroyed during installation. Twelve new wireless alarms were added to bedrooms and living areas. Fraser Sergeant, Managing Director of AFS said: "We were even able to make use of the existing seven alarms by swapping their bases from conventional hard-wired interconnect units to RF wireless bases. We then coded all the alarms - new and old - into one cohesive system, in just three hours".
Recessed fan and vent sleeves from Aico's Firecap CFS100 series have been designed to restore the fire ratings of ceilings penetrated by recessed ceiling fans and ventilation ducts. The sleeve restores fire integrity of 30 or 60-minute fire rated ceilings, and have been tested to BS476 Part 21. In a fire event, it expands internally to crush the spigot of the fan or vent.

Tested and rated for use with all ceiling types, Aico's range of Firecap intumescent fire protection covers for use with downlights meet Building Regulations requirements.
Heat from the lamp escapes through ventilation slots and in a fire event the material swells and seals completely against fire.

Designed to overcome thermal and vapour transmission to loft voids after the fitting of downlights, Lofcap from Aico provides a solution that has been tested to BS 476 Part 21. The product offers a solution to the coverage of thermal insulation in loft spaces mentioned in Document L and minimises heat loss. Weighing 350g, it adds no load on the ceiling but is rigid enough to allow insulation to be laid over it.
Extending its Firecap range of intumescent fire safety products, Aico has added four new fire sleeves.
Firecap electrical trunking fire sleeves prevent fire spreading through service penetrations made for electrical trunking up to 50 by 50mm and 100 by 100m, Firecap Pipe, Conduit and SWA Fire Sleeves are made for pipes and conduits up to 150mm, Firecap Cable Tray Fire Sleeves are for cable trays up to 150mm wide, and Firecap Ventilation Duct Fire Sleeves are for ventilation ducting in nine different sizes.
Meeting requirements of Building Standards, the sleeves are suitable for metal or pvc electrical plumbing products through fire partitions and floors, providing a two hour fire 'stop'. In their passive state they also provide a cold smoke seal.
Exterior lighting from Fumagalli, supplied by Aico, has been selected for use at Netley Hall, a leisure resort in Shropshire. A large number of Fumagalli posts and lamps were installed on the property, all from the classics range. Eight Premier posts with Grande Roma heads were installed in the car park and more of the same heads and posts were used to line the drive around the facility. The courtyard was illuminated with six posts featuring large Roma heads.
