AKW Medi-Care
Recognising the limited availability of low cost special needs kitchens, AKW Medi-Care has introduced the Worcester kitchen to its range of showering and kitchen solutions.
Specifically designed for the elderly and less able, the kitchen features a full range of options including cupboards with pull-down and pull-out baskets, free standing appliances and rise and fall units.
Following the launch of its Mullen level access shower tray, AKW has introduced an additional product to its range.
The new 'cut to length' alcove tray can be trimmed on site to fit any sized bathroom and is often fitted where a bath has been removed.
Designed for quick installation, the three sided alcove tray is 1800mm long and can be trimmed by up to 300mm at each end. The slip resistant bathroom flooring is mechanically fixed into the tray using a clamping strip which, the company says, provides total water integrity between the flooring and the tray itself. The trays can withstand a 30 stone user in a wheelchair alongside a carer.
