Designed to provide thermal disinfection of hot water systems, the AquaProtect T self contained system from Alfa Laval eradicates Legionella bacteria. Based around the company's range of Plate Heat Exchangers, the system exploits the temperature-sensitive nature of Legionella bacterium. It heats the water to 70?C for six minutes.
In order to provide efficient and safe hot water heating, Alfa Laval has launched the AquaMicro self-contained sub-station, which is designed for apartments and is ready for connection to a suitable district heating network.
Hot water from the district heating system is used to heat the water in the apartment indirectly via a plate heat exchanger, equipped with acid-resistant stainless steel plates.
The product incorporates a temperature control system and can be wall-mounted.

Plate Heat Exchangers from Alfa Laval's T20BW/MW range offer up to 425m of heat transfer surface and the capacity to handle 677m/h liquid flow rate in a footprint of 3m. Suitable for evaporating and condensing duties in refrigeration systems, heat transfer efficiency is achieved by a corrugated plate pattern which enables thin materials to be used, promoting the turbulence of liquids.
