Refurbishment of a market hall at Keighly, West Yorkshire, has utilised an Alkorplan single-ply waterproofing system from Alkor Draka. The work forms part of Bradford Metropolitian District Council's ?1.5million regeneration scheme.
The flat roof is protected by an Alkorplan 35170 waterproofing membrane fixed with rigid PIR foam insulation boards. A 'North Lights' section of angled glass incorporates glazing to allow light in below and composite Alkormetal guttering to channel away rainwater on the south face.
Guests to the new Express hotel at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth will remain comfortable and dry thanks to Alkor Draka. Featuring 130 en-suite, air conditioned bedrooms, Alkorplan 35170 membrane was used to protect the 2000m² roof which upon completion was electronically leak tested.
Protecting a mixed use development of retail units with duplex flats above in North Street, Brighton is a versatile roofing system from Alkor Draka. The eye-shaped roof of the duplex apartments is supported by a trapezoidal metal deck fixed to main steel. It is air-sealed and features specially profiled insulation to suit the curve of the design. On top of this, Alkorplan 35179 membrane is adhered to the insulation. Providing the distinctive finish, the company?s Alpha profiles were used. Part of the Alkorplan system, this roofing profile gives the look of a lead roll or standing seam roof but - the company claims - with a lower cost and reduced weight. Where it is not covered by the footprint of the apartments, the roof of the retail units below is an inverted structure on a concrete deck featuring Alkorplus fleece and Alkorplan 35177 membrane, overlaid with Alkorplan 35121 protective membrane.
