The school chose the company's Whiterock hygienic wall cladding, using a combination of classic white with pink in the girls' toilets and Heather, a pale lilac blue, in the boys' toilets. The semi-rigid hygienic PVC-u wall cladding with an easy to clean surface can be wiped, steam cleaned or pressure hosed. Easy to install, in most cases it can be fixed direct to brick or blockwork, it is said to be low maintenance and offers resistance to stains, chemical spillages and impact. Co-ordinating walkway from Altro was installed to give an attractive and yet practical multi-surface finish.

Pebblestone from Altro has been used in Reiss, a fashion outlet in Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre. The flooring is used throughout the shop floor area to create an eye catching and unusual flooring feature. It offers better durability an cleaning properties when compared to carpet or wood, which can stain and age prematurely, the company claims. Pebblestone uses a blend of natural and synthetic aggregates to create a decorative and versatile surface which also offers sound absorption properties. The use of aggregates in the resin mix gives the floor slip resistance and makes it hard wearing. The aggregates are bound with an epoxy resin giving the floor good cleaning and hygiene properties.

According to Altro slips and trips are the most common causes of accidents in the UK. Replacement of ageing vinyl and linoleum flooring at Harlington Community School in Hayes, Middlesex, has been carried out using Maxis from Altro. After a five-month trial in selected areas of the school, staff concluded that the Maxis worked well, and specified over 1,400m² for all school corridors and circulation areas. This safety flooring offers good underfoot safety, combined with an easily cleaned surface. The new flooring has performed so well that a further 200m² for the main reception area. The school is reported to be delighted at the easy cleaning and elimination of any marks.
