Reduced running costs are said to be just one of the benefits of installing Vision radiant tube heaters from AmbiRad in a large space building in Cheshire.
The existing system, despite consuming a considerable amount of gas, could not adequately heat the premise. In terms of economy, effectiveness, comfort and zoning capabilities the AmbiRad Vision fitted the bill. The range is said to have one of the highest efficiency ratings for radiant tube heaters, and is the only range of its kind listed on the government's Energy Technology Listing, making it eligible for Enhanced Capital Allowances.

For an effective heating system during a refurbishment at the Royal Air Force Museum in Hendon, a continuous Nor-Ray-Vac radiant tube heating from AmbiRad was chosen.
The system emits low-intensity heat with even distribution, which is said to be suitable for creating comfort conditions for visitors and staff but without affecting the valuable aircraft on display.
The 38kW LR series linear burners with one discharge fan were installed. The heaters are controlled in two separate zones, allowing the Museum to shut down heating in one section when it is necessary to do so. As a result, unnecessary use of fuel is eliminated and running costs are kept to a minimum.
The choice of the Nor-Ray-Vac heating system was based on previous experience. Mike Gell, Building and Services Manager at the museum said: 'We have used this type of radiant heating for a number of years and have found it to be a cost-effective solution.'
Energy efficient radiant tubing produced by Ambi-Rad has been installed at a sports hall and gymnasium at a leisure complex in Crawley.
Nor-Ray-Vac continuous radiant tube heating systems provide background warmth in the sports hall and gymnasium. Designed and fitted by Emcor Group, the system comprises of 12 NRV 32LR burners, covering the entire floor area of the sports hall, and four NRV 32LR burners in the gym.
The product provides low intensity warmth with rapid heat-up and heat recovery as well as low noise, making it particularly suitable for sports facilities. Sports England's Optimum Sports Hall template can be met with this type of heating.
In sports facilities, heating must be close controlled to ensure comfort for spectators and players. The product provides this because the physical properties of radiant heat mean it can be set to a lower constant temperature than other systems to achieve the same comfort levels, the company claims. This results in energy cost savings.
Preventing cold draughts penetrating from outside and creating discomfort for visitors at Edgware Community Hospital are Airbloc Commercial overdoor air curtains. Blending in with the aesthetics of the area, the AC surface mounted air curtain is semicircular in profile with a white casing. Installed above the doorways, the air curtain is recessed in the ceiling void.
Keeping staff comfortable and preventing energy loss at AstraZeneca is an Airbloc ACR recessed air curtain, installed between two doorways in the lobby area. The air curtain delivers a ?sheet? of air at critical velocity that prevents internal air escaping or external air infiltrating. As a result conditions within the lobby area remain constant.
An Olympic standard indoor cycle track, the Wales National Velodrome is being kept warm with a Nor-Ray- Vac continuous radiant tube heating system from Ambi-Rad. Over the steeply banked track and badminton courts of the main area, a total of 16 Nor-Ray-Vac burners, each with an output of 46kW, were installed 10m above floor level. The seating area is warmed by three 35kW linear radiant tubes. Radiant offers the benefit of warming up rapidly so that athletes and spectators feel warm within minutes, and little fuel is consumed.
With the velocity and volume to make it effective at mounting heights of up to 4m, Airbloc has introduced a new high capacity air curtain (ACR High Capacity). The high capacity units are available in two sizes - 1.2m and 1.8m wide. Its 600mm outlet grille makes the air curtain suitable for suspended modular t-bar ceiling tile systems.
