A high performance waterproofing system that is claimed will slash installation times for inverted, green and plaza deck roofs as well as roofing sub-structures and access roadways has been launched by Icopal subsidiary Anderson Monarflex. Parabit is a seamless, reinforced, hot applied, modified-bitumen membrane designed for concrete substrates that can be installed quicker than traditional membranes.
In the first phase of a development project, Edinburgh Zoo has installed a new Penguin Station with a roof from Anderson Monarflex. The Extensive Sedum Roof System comprises of a 50m? green roof that provides an ecologically sound solution as well as allowing visitors to view the penguins without disturbing them.
Part of the Icopal Group, Anderson Monarflex won both the Best in Show and Best New Build Projects at the Reinforced Bitumen Membrane Awards, run by the Flat Roofing Alliance.
The company picked up the Best in Show award for the MOHO (modular housing) project in Manchester, where an Icopal Lightweight Green Roof system was installed.
