Carpet tiles from Armstrong Floor Products Desso Libra Grooves range have been supplied to the new office of an architecture and design firm as part of a refurbishment project underway. The company supplied the textured carpet tile in a natural slate-blue colour in a quarter-turned formation to create a depth and dimensional quality to the floor. Recently completed at two buildings in Cardiff for GK Flooring is an installation of flooring usings Armstrong Floor Products tiles. Desso Torso, a tactile cut pile carpet tile, was chosen along with DLW Protech, which has a dimpled surface for anti-slippage. Made from velour fibres, the Desso Trapez was installed where the workstations were located, and Timberline provided a pu-reinforced vinyl covering which is hardwearing.

It can be installed in a number of different ways, from half brick and chequerboard to ashlar formats. Desso Manhattan is a thick carpet tile constructed of high and low loops with directional lines combined with soft multi-coloured yarns. Among the carpet tiles launched this summer by Armstrong Floor Products is the Desso Mundio range. Comprising three different designs, the tiles have a structured loop pile manufactured from piece-dyed nylon. Mundio Grain is a plain structured loop pile carpet tile available in a range of 16 colourways. It works well on its own or whein combined with tiles from the other two design groups, the company claims. Of the other groups, Mundio Bamboo has a bold tone-in-tone linear camoflage pattern that is available in nine natural colours to make an avant garde statement. Chosen to create a fresh and contemporary office environment, Armstrong Floor Products has supplied the new headquarters of Save the Children with Desso Structura and Desso Pallas carpet tiles. In the main areas of the five-floor building, Desso Structura Maze, a sculptured loop pile carpet tile was specified to bring a strong aesthetic. A light grey colour was used for the main areas, with royal blue highlights dividing areas into different zones and forming walkways to guide people around the office. In the assembly space, Armstrong DLW Marmorette linoleum was chosen as a hardwearing and easy to clean solution. Insurance services company RIAS has chosen Desso Capella low-level loop pile carpet tiles from Armstrong Floor Products for its new offices in Bournemouth. A staff focus group chose the carpet tiles on the basis of colour and performance. Some 5,700m² of Desso Capella carpet tiles were installed. The main office areas feature blue tiles to contrast with the claret colour in the chairs and screens. A practical charcoal colour was chosen in the restaurant for comfort underfoot combined with good appearance retention. Desso Capella tiles are available in 12 colours in strong accents.

Some 11 new carpet and carpet tile products are to be launched by Armstrong Floor Products. Among the new tiles are the Bizz and Patches. Bizz is created from a cut-and-loop pile, designed to provide an impression of depth and variety. Patches uses a mix of chunky and low loops creating a linear visual in a range of natural shades. When installed, these tiles are intended to strike a random appearance on the floor. Some 500m? of the company's DLW Timberline vinyl has been used in the corridors and 200m? of DLW Marmorette linoleum with laser cutting techniques has been installed in the classrooms. Timberline is a sheet vinyl that is hard wearing for heavy foot traffic. A cherry oak visual was selected for the corridors with contrasting light oak strips delineating the walkways in compliance with DDA regulations.
