The latest phase of the Wren Academy in Finchley, London, has used hollowcore floors and stairs from Bison Manufacturing.
The firm's involvement with the project began with advice at the design stage of the North Block building. This resulted in the cores of the Bison Manufacturing floor and stair units being linked and reinforced, which enabled the building to meet the disproportionate collapse requirements of the Building Regulations Part A.
A high quality finish was required for the project as the design featured large areas of exposed soffits which would be visible in the completed building. The Bison products used in the construction of the North Block were manufactured complete with integral lifting hooks to enable easy onsite handling.
Bison Manufacturing spokesman Rob Jones commented: "We demonstrated that Bison Manufacturing could supply exactly the products they required and also meet the levels of quality, delivery and technical support the clients demanded."

Bison Manufacturing has provided 5500 square metres of Hollowcore flooring, roofing and staircase units for the new Budworth Technology College in Weymouth.
Bison's early involvement in the project helped the final building accommodate a number design requirements. The College features a steel-frame construction and is based around a central curved 'street' which runs between a pair of two-storey classroom blocks.
Bison worked closely with main contractors, Interserve, to ensure that the Hollowcore units supplied for the floor had sufficient depth and strength to allow cherry-pickers to be used in the building, once completed, for maintenance purposes.
