Slates top barn restoration

The Bonsall Field Barn Project has chosen Bradstone to help in its quest to repair and restore derelict field barns. After surviving the stripping of their roofs for the past 50 years, many barns are now being plundered for their stone quoins and lintels. Bradstone's reconstructed stone Conservation Slate, a replica of original natural stone slates, has been specified for the project. The main reason the barns are in such poor condition is because, since the introduction of the farming tax in the 1930's, many roofs were stripped to avoid paying this tax. The Conservation Slate replacements will weather like natural stone and blend in with the natural environment.
