 Terrracing for Centre Court at The All England Lawn Tennis Club in Wimbledon has recently been replaced using a formulated, lightweight, water resistant concrete manufactured by David Ball.
To improve spectator seating, the terracing from levels A-H has been replaced. Preventing water penetration through to the remaining concrete below, Lytag aggregate was used, with PUDLO waterproofing powder incorporated in order to produce a low water cement ratio of 0.38.
The construction joints in the terracing were sealed using hDR Waterstop and the whole area was protected by a coating of Instalastic TG - a non-slip, waterproof layer of 2mm thickness. A waterproof jointing tape was fixed where old concrete met a new application.
