Dimplex's Girona brings a touch of glass - Dimplex

Simplicity of design and a unique style were the inspiration behind Dimplex's Girona premium glass-fronted panel heater. The Girona's smooth front is aptly described as 'sophisticated yet understated' and complements the most fashionable designer surroundings. For the energy conscious, the Girona comes in a choice of five outputs. These range from 0.5kW to 2kW, while an accurate digital thermostat keeps the room temperature steady to +/- 0.3 degrees celsius. The company claims the range provides no less than 70 per cent better air circulation than traditional panel heaters which means the heat circulates more quickly and effectively.

Electric fires - Dimplex

National pub chain, Slug and Lettuce, has been given a slick and sophisticated new look courtesy of a multi-million pound refurbishement and the introduction of Dimplex Optiflame's electric fires. Leeds-based design specialists Plumtree Mee were appointed by Slug and Lettuce owners, the Laurel Pub Group, to re-design and oversee the management of an updated style for the chain's 50 plus branches. Plumtree Mee, which specialises in the design of commercial environments, was looking for products that introduced extra 'life' to the interior of the pubs. Designer Katie Stammers said: 'Retail environments are not only about function but also about fashion and that can be a challenging brief for us to fulfil. In the Slug and Lettuce we ensure not only that the products look good but also tha they will withstand the rigours of a busy environment and most importantly, be safe. Dimplex fires, for us, tick all these boxes.'

Funding secured for air source heat pumps - Dimplex

Energy efficient, low carbon heating is now taken for granted by the owners of a new build property in Scotland - as it's one of the first projects to secure funding from the Scottish Community and Householders Renewables Initiative for the installation of a Dimplex air source heat pump. The air-to water heat pump stands on purpose-built slab at the side of the four-bedroom property and introduces an established and popular European technology to the UK. It operates by extracting heat from the ambient air temperature as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius. When installed it is said to have worked instantly - raising the water temperature in the 300 -litre tank from seven degrees Celsius up to 50 degrees in less than an hour. Within three days, the heat pump was operating at full capacity, heating the domestic hot water and a delivering a room temperature of 22 degrees with the help of an underfloor heating system.

Fast fit - Dimplex

Dune, the shoe shop for South Molton Street, London have installed a 'fast fit' air curtain from Dimplex. The installation took place overnight, so that the shop could be open for its trading day the next day, and with no wholesalers open during the night the contractor specified a trouble-free installation. The air curtains feature a dual flexibility option of dual or recess mounting for one model.

Chic and sleek - Dimplex

Dimplex says it is bringing chic to bathrooms with its luxury Campaver bathroom radiator - a glass-fronted design. Available in black, white or with a tinted mirror finish it is said to introduce the company's 'Inertia' technology. This combines aluminium radiant elements with a surface heating film providing radiant and convected heat to warm towels .

Air stream - Dimplex

Offering an air-stream in applications such as warehouse doors, factory loading bays, and distribution centres, the new Dimplex IAB range of industrial air curtains allows day-to-day business to continue unhindered by creating an 'invisible' curtain of air to separate internal and external environments. By separating these two adjoining zones, the running costs of a busy facility can be reduced and the working environment improved. The IAB range can be specified in one metre or 1.5m widths, and multiple units can be linked together to cover wider doorways. All models can be installed up to six metres in height.

Compact fire - Dimplex

A more compact version of the SP9 fire from Dimplex's Optiflame range has been launched. The Obsidian fire can be wall-mounted and does not require a chimney or flue. Control of the 2kW fan heater, on and off, heat output and flame brightness, are through a hand held remote control. It comes with the Optiflame Elite log burning effect.

Pumping history forward - Dimplex

Heat pumps from Dimplex have been installed at the Aberdulais Falls National Trust site in Wales. One of the company's LA20AS air to water heat pumps was installed, which draws energy needed by the underfloor heating system from the ambient air. Power to drive the heat pump is supplied by a hydro-electric water turbine, which allows the entire heating system to be sustainable and have zero carbon emission. It is also planned that the system will also form part of the exhibition display.

Double award - Dimplex

Warm start at bed and breakfast - Dimplex

Installed at a 'Bed and Breakfast' Hotel in France, Dimplex DuoHeat radiators assist in ensuring 75% lower fuel bills than those in similar buildings, the company claims. Chez Jallot has a 500m? living space to heat spread over five storeys. Set in the 'department' of Creuse in central France, which has relatively cold winters but hot summers, the flexibility of the heating and its running costs were of importance to the English owners. The heating system uses a combination of the company's DuoHeat radiator and electronic slimline panel heaters. It was claimed by the owners that they paid 1400 Euros for the winter fuel bill, whereas others had paid 6000 Euros
