Board manufacturer EcoTherm has invested £8 million in a new laminating line and warehouse at its Basildon headquarters. The line, which will significantly increase production capacity, will be used to join facing materials such as aluminium foil to the company's rigid thermal insulation boards.
The investment will also fund a customer service website, which will provide accessible information on products.

Glass-Therm rigid polyurethane (PUR) insulation board from EcoTherm is being used as part of a fast-track flat roofing solution at Equinox, a new Barratt development in Hertfordshire. The high performance thermal roofboard supports a Prelasti rubber waterproofing membrane, which is custom-made to the size and shape of the roof and delivered to site ready to install. The prefabricated roofing system enables flat roofs to be installed and fully waterproof up to four times faster than a traditional felt and bitumen construction.
The strength, performance and durability of EcoTherm PUR (Polyurethane) insulation board made it an ideal solution when a Dorset school needed to replace two areas of roof.
The foam core of these boards is said to offer exceptional thermal insulation and the closed cell structure of the foam means that it is not affected by damp.
Insulation on the roof of the new Flower Auction halls in Aalsmeer, Holland, has been provided by EcoTherm PIR Insulation boards.
Some 40000m? of the insulation board was applied in order to maintain an internal controlled climatic conditions environment and fire resistance for the health and protection of living produce being traded within the building.
