To prevent damage to the safety flooring beyond the entrance of St John's Hospital, Livingstone, the Emco three zone matting system was chosen. Adhering to the NHS Health and Safety initiative of combating slips, trips and falls, the system comprises of EMCO Marshall matting in the exterior and intermediate areas and EMCO Attach? TT within the foyer of the hospital.
In the 'clean off' zone around the Marschall 542S door, a hybrid of polymide/nylon yarn carpet acts as a final brush off area. This material not only collects potentially contaminating particles but the texture of the matting also makes it safer for people and, according to Emco, 'cuts down on slips, trips and falls'.
The system's performance has been very encouraging according to the estate manager.
Supplied to Sir Charles Parson School in Newcastle, Emco has provided overflow grating for the school's new indoor hydrotherapy and swimming pool.
As a school for children with learning difficulties, a surface was required that was easy to maintain and did not act as a haven for bacteria. Slip resistant and malleable, it is constructed from hard pvc that can withstand high impact. With rigid mitred corners, the system does not require the joining corners on site.
Comprising storage and accessory modules, Asis products by Emco can be combined together to create room concepts for bathrooms. Wash basin modules are manufactured from anodised aluminium with flaps concealing items such as tissue boxes. The flaps have back-painted 4mm float glass and smooth operation from push catches. The WC modules integrate a toilet brush box or a unit for toilet paper and spare paper with a child-proof lockable box. An optional feature for the modules is a highfrequency sensor for the light unit. Also within the range is the company's illuminated mirror cabinet which provides a soft glowing light for the bathroom with the doors closed and full light when the doors are opened. Overall, The modules are specifically designed to blend together.
