Fernox have launched a new descaler and sludge remover for domestic central heating systems, which it claims will help reduce fuel wastage and increase efficiency. Combined of the DS-40 descaler and the Superconcentrate system cleaner, the DS-40 System Cleaner dissolves oxide sludge and limescale and is universally compatible. One container is sufficient to de-scale up to ten radiators.

The partnership between Fernox and Signpost Housing Association has moved into its third year with the implementation of a water analysis service from Fernox. The service ensures that the central heating systems installed in 300 homes in North Dorset retain a valid warranty, as boiler manufacturers are increasingly reluctant to honour warranty repairs where they suspect that the problem has been caused by debris or sludge in the system. Each boiler is pre-commissioned using Fernox Cleaner F3 and Protector F1. On completion, the system water is tested using the Fernox Water Test Kit, and samples analysed to determine its condition, ensuring problems are caught early and repairs because of an invalid warranty are avoided.

Water treatment for North Wales based Clwyd Heating has been provided by Fernox. The 500ml range, used by Clwyd Heating includes Protector F1, Boiler Noise Silencer F2, Cleaner F3, and Leak Sealer F4. The numerically sequenced collection of products provides the installer with a complete range of treatment solutions. Half the size of traditional one litre treatments, the concentrated products work effectively with the same amount of active ingredients. One pack is sufficient to treat an average central heating system. Each product is compatible with all metals and materials.

Facilitating quick connection of a power flushing machine to a central heating system via the body of the circulator pump, the Fernox Powerflow pump head adapter enables every radiator in the system to be flushed effectively.
