A new rapid installation foam from Fischer Fixings has just become available on the market. Single Component Rapid Installation Foam PU1 can be used for filling virtually any holes or gaps encountered during building projects, say the manufacturers. The product also features a resealable dispensing valve, making it reusable, unlike some other foams, which must be discarded after first use.
The FH II is a sleeve anchor from Fischer which is claimed to offer the highest performance, with excellent load bearing in both cracked and non-cracked concrete.
The company maintains the product offers up to 21 per cent higher permissible tensile load capacity and double the sheer load capacity of its predecessor.
The fixing achieves this performance as a result of the interaction between the expansion sleeve and the cone.
When the screw or nut is tightened, the cone is pulled into the expansion sleeve and tightens against the inside of the drill hole.
The FH II features a black plastic ring which absorbs the tightening slip when the anchor is stressed and compensates for any cavities in the anchor plate. The result is said to a perfectly tight fit within the substrate.
The fixing is suitable for use where the aesthetic appearance is important.
Designed for maximum performance under extreme conditions, fischer fixings has introduced the Faz II steel anchor bolt. It can cope with minimum axial and edge spacings under extreme loads, combined with reduced component thickness in cracked concrete. Developed to be easy to handle and install, it can be used for the installation of beams, railings, banisters, brackets, steel fabrications and stairs.
Creating a sheer external face, a new glass fa?ade in Commercial Street, London, features a new retaining bolt from Fischer Fixings which is secured within the glass with an undercut hole.
The Micropoint system is suitable for double toughened and laminated glass panels as the fixing secures the outer pane through the inner pane, and is resin filled around the fixing in the inner pane with the company's FISV resin.
The laminated fixing can be used with water features because there is no water ingress. As the bolt does not pass all the way through the glass, there is no migration, which makes it suitable for clean rooms, laboratories and other sterile environments. The product is not affected by wind loads or vibration and therefore does not need retorqueing.
