A timber panelised system from Framework was recently specified for the construction of a new Arts Centre at King Charles I school, Worcestershire.
The panelised system was specified for the walls and roof, and was selected thanks to its environmental credentials and to help reduce construction time on-site. Framework's system is a series of pre-engineered timber cassettes, manufactured using a combination of Fibreboard and OSB panels and insulated with a mineral wool fibre core.
Each panel is fitted with an interlocking system, creating long spans suitable for use on extensive projects. Thanks to this interlocking system, the panels create a completely airtight seal, helping to reach part L of the Building Regulations. Once in place, Glulam beams are attached to the top edge of the panels, acting as a lintel to accommodate door and window openings and helping to relieve heavy bearing loads.
The panels were ideal for the base of the Sedum roof, which blended with the surrounding green area.
