Headlands Primary School in Northampton and St Bartholomews Hospital in London have had the stainless steel worktop installed, which rises over a 20mm distance at the edge to a height of 3mm. It can be applied to front, rear and side edges and is compatible with other edge profiles and surface finishes available on GEC Anderson worktops. It can be used on stainless steel of both domestic and acid resisting grades. Martin Tye, GEC Anderson MD, said: 'It provides a practical barrier to stop minor spills, or items rolling off the worktop, that could damage under-sink cupboards or the floor below.'

Bowls can be freely positioned with a minimum of 35mm from any worktop edge or adjacent bowls. Alternatively bowls are available individually with a 20mm flat flange for use in conjunction with other worktop materials for insetting, flush-mounting or under-mounting. Standard square bowls are available in six sizes from 160 by 340 by 130mm to 800 by 400 by 185mm. The range includes several standard double bowl and bowl/drainer combinations. Bowls in the square range are made from a satin finish stainless steel.

GEC Anderson Ltd Steel appeal in the kitchenPart of the refurbishment of a five storey Victorian property in Hampstead, a modern kitchen featuring a GEC Anderson stainless steel sinktop and worktop has been installed. For the refurbishment, designers Trotman Green Associates installed the company's LE50 sinktop with integral rectangular stainless steel sink. This eliminates the need for vulnerable joints or junctions and provides a single work surface designed to be aesthetically pleasing and easy to clean. From the company's edge profiles Trotman Green chose a 'watersafe' square edge. This was specified to provide a simple, defined visual appearance with the benefit of helping to prevent spillage onto the cabinets or floor.
