A remote control operated door from Gretsch-Unitas, suitable for domestic property entrance doors, is said to be a technological breakthrough for multi-point locks.
The product features fully motorised unlocking from outside with the G-U Secury Comfort 'electronic key' and from the inside the property via intercom.
Suitable for timber, PVC and aluminium doors, the door provides improved protection against burglary and is tested to ENV 1627 and rated WK2 and WK3.
A new range of the Fecrco multi-point locks from Gretsch-Unitas (G-U) is now available to manufacturers. The announcement means the 'popular' lock is making a return after an extended absence.
Speaking of the launch Paul Gerrard, the company's managing director, said: "The new range of Ferco products will set new standards for the industry. For too long there has been a trend towards using cheap locks as a way of cutting costs, but it's a real false economy. Low cost multi-point locks are fundamentally flawed, often resulting in expensive call backs to fix them whilst they also provide easy pickings for burglars."
In order to seal a door with a low threshold, Gretsch Unitas has launched a cill that accepts keepers.
The new range of thermally broken, aluminium, low threshold cills is suitable for both u-pvc and timber frames.
Working on both inward and outward opening doors, the range is available in gold and silver finishes with other colours supplied upon request. The new cills conform to the standard for thermal conductivity - the inside surface temperature of a cill must be kept above the dew point of 9.2?C to avoid condensation. They also meet the 20mm height regulations for low threshold cills, to ensure barrier free living and disabled access.
A HTS thermally broken system is utilised in the product along with a Eurogroove mounted gasket seal. Profile specific moulded GRP blocks, in a choice of colours, are provided to ensure a connection between threshold and outer frame goal posts.
Also available is a DKS system which has been designed to accommodate adjustable shootbolt and mushroom keepers.
Greater security is possible with the Rhino add-vantage, claims Gretsch Unitas. The product features locking 'horns' and extra locking points with upward moving tempered steel hooks combining with a central latch and dead bolt. A one-piece drive bar provides smooth operation and it has been tested for water-tightness and corrosion resistance.
Designed to provide a solution to door security problems, GU has introduced the Secury which features an anti panic function lock and associated panic bar fittings. The lock and panic bar has achieved the new European standard for doors of this type covered under the BS EN 1125 standard, which provides assurance that the doorway is a safe and effective escape in panic situations. The solution means that completely concealed locking elements can be fitted to doors in a variety of profiles.
