Artdeco flat goes hi -tech

A combination of Linea Rondo plates from Hamilton Litestat, along with the company's Digital Mercury lighting system, have been used in the refurbishment of a luxury art deco apartment in Poole, Dorset.
Developed to suit current minimalist trends, the plates feature grid fix and secret screw fixings, and split finishes.
The Digital Mercury lighting was built as a bespoke system to achieve different effects in various zones. Hamilton used a multi-zone Linea Rondo accessory plate to programme all the areas with one master controller. Engraved remote controls are used throughout.

Developing control

Used at the Stagg Ridge development in Potters Bar are Hamilton Litestat's Digital Mercury lighting control system and Sheer Satin Chrome wiring accessory plates.
The Digital Mercury dimming system was specified for five of the apartments in order to provide scene setting capabilities. It has been used to control the lighting on the ceiling, walls and also to control the extractor fans in the bathrooms and kitchens, as well as offering the capacity to open and close curtains.
On the company's controllers are eight push buttons for raising and lowering the level of lighting and four buttons are on the other side to recall set scenes. Blue LEDS backlight the control buttons.

Clip and screw for security

New 'Grid IT' grid fix modular wiring solutions from Hamilton Litestat are available for its Sheer, Hartland and Cheriton accessory ranges.
Each module has been designed to clip and screw for secure fixing. Some ten module finishes are available to be matched with each of the plate finishes. The standard front grid plates have been designed to accommodate from one to 12 gang grid assemblies. The grid frame earth terminal has 12mm? cable capacity whilst the grid yokes are zinc plated to prevent corrosion and increase durability.
For the grid fuse unit, a built-in illuminated halo is featured around the fuse, avoiding the need for an extra neon grid module. The halos come in a choice of four colours.
The product range incorporates 12 annotated printed rocker switches which show symbols or printed names for identification of switch function.
Completing the range, the company produces one and two gang grid fix switched sockets within its collection.

Featuring a black transparent lid, it produces IP66 protection with the plug inserted and the cover closed. Available in a single switched 13 amp socket and an un-switched 13 amp socket, it also has a two module version which accepts international sockets from the System 45 range.
The front cover is manufactured from polycarbonate for robustness and impact strength whilst a high thermal resistant silicone gasket is included to create a seal.
A stainless steel sprung lateral push button opening system ensures ease of use. The hinged cover maintains its integrity in UV light and the product is suitable for most British Standard domestic plugs.

The plate range was accommodated into Compact Residential Infrastructure System (CRIS) modules from Aldous Systems. The modules include TV, radio and telecom data outlets. Each of the modules can be clipped into the grid frame located within Hamilton's modified face plates.
The plates had the depth required to accommodate the CRIS modules, along with a satin chrome finish to complement other switches and sockets from the same range of products. They have customised impedance matched volume controls allowing for adjusting sound transmission from room to room in the properties.
