A wireless (RF) version of the Horstmann Controls ThermoPlus programmable room thermostat has been added to the range, with installers now able to select from four different easy-fit models, depending on the application and user environment.
The ThermoPlus AS2 RF is battery powered and makes use of advanced Z-Wave mesh wireless control language. This reduces installation times.
Enabling compliance with the latest zoning requirements in Part L, Horstmann Controls has introduced a four channel version of its ChannelPlus XL electronic programmers and time switches. The H47XL is a combination of four independent seven day timers, each giving up to three 'on' and 'off' functions per day in a single unit.
Residential heating control equipment from Horstmann Controls is to be supplied for heating systems installed under the Defra funded national 'Warm Front' scheme.
The ThermoPlus programmable room thermostat used in the scheme was developed by Horstmann followingg research carried out by the National Energy Action Charity (NEA) which identified problems with time and temperature controls fitted to Warm Front heating schemes. NEA discovered that users found existing thermostats complicated to use and, as a result, they were not achieving optimum efficiency from the heating system.
ThermoPlus incorporates five pre-installed heating programmes and the design incorporates features such as colour coded LED warm and cool display and winter and summer time change.
Applying Horstmann Control's AS (Advanced Simplicity) technology, the Series 2 ChannelPlus range of electronic programmers and time switches features new improvements. Additions include back lit LCD displays and menu driven programming. It assists installers in meeting Building Regulations, as heating zones over 150m? should have time and temperature controls.
