Thermally treated deck

A high quality reversible deckboard made from thermally treated timber has been launched by Howarth Timber & Building Supplies. Lunardeck has been designed to remain stable and less prone to defects and faults normally associated with moisture movement in softwood timber. Lunardeck is matured in steam temperatures exceeding 200 degrees Celsius over a sustained time-frame. As a result, the board is less likely to warp, crack or twist. The thermal treatment offer 100 per cent sectional penetration, thereby removing the risk of attack by insects, as well as rotting at fixing points. Deckboards have a natural golden brown colour, simliar to hardwood species. Although regular maintenance is recommended, the total penetration of the treatment helps to increase the durability of the timber, with Lunardeck boards having an expected service life of more than 30 years.
