Creative Lintel Solutions from IG Lintels, part of the Keystone Group, is hte name of a recently released brochure highlighting the company's range of custom-made steel lintesl and bespoke lintel design coupled with its delivery capabilities.

Additional lateral support for large panels of brickwork can be achieved with windposts from IG. The company provides three types of windpost, offering cost effective methods of providing additional stiffness to masonry panels in the construction of buildings over two storeys high, such as apartments, hospitals, schools and office buildings. The windposts are available in a wide range of size and gauge, with each manufactured on a project-by-project basis, in order to meet the requirements of the client. They can be fixed to timber and steel beams as well as concrete frames, with shorter lengths available to provide the same level of stability to parapets or below windows. Manufactured from grade 304 stainless steel, the products are supplied in three types - the U Windpost for installation within the cavity, the DU Windpost for a heavy duty version of the U, and the LP Windpost for the inner skin of the cavity.

Timber arch lintels from IG have helped a new function suite, an extension to Hempstead House Hotel near Sittingbourne, match the style of the adjacent Victorian stable block. The design provides a pitched and tiled roof supported by a cavity wall construction comprising external facing brickwork ? a fully-filled 60mm cavity with 150mm thick medium density blockwork. Brick arches over window openings are supported by timber arch lintels, while masonry over large double doors is supported by L5 extra heavy duty lintels.
