A Yorkshire builder is said to have been won over to Spatial Roof from iLevel Trus Joist by its ease of construction and the ability to create extra space. White Rose Property Services decided to trial the system, which is claimed to offer quicker and simpler ways to build attic roofs by creating an attic room as a separate floor and roof, rather than a combined unit on a site in Bradford. By installing the floor first it means a permanent working platform for putting up the pitched roof was formed, aiding the construction.

As part of a ?200 million residential regeneration project at Wigan Pier, 17,500 linear metres of iLevel Trus Joist's TJI joists were used. The products, varying in size, were supplied by the company's service partner CR Taylor. Commenting on the project Mike Onions, technical director for Shire Timber Structures, appointed by the developer to deliver the project, said: "In any apartment building one of the biggest issues is the transmission of sound, which can be expensive to remedy. Engineered timber floors offer the most practical solution." Other products used include 4,000 linear metres of Parallam PSL, installed around the perimeter of each floor to support its load should a wall panel be removed. The project is a five/six-storey timber frame residential development at one of the North West's most historic and iconic landmarks. The site, boasting 200 apartments spread over three buildings, will also house a number of leisure facilities including shops, a theatre, a public house, hotel and a public house as part of a new 'urban village'.
