Designed by the architect Jean Nouvel, a new range of products has been launched by Jado.
Included in the range is a chrome-brass plated tap with digital sensory technology, a showering system and bath fitting with an integrated hand-held spray, a modular towel rack system that uses detachable bars, and a collection of toilet and sanitary accessories.
Saving both water and money in the bathroom can be achieved with a range of products from Ideal Standard to assist in conservation.
A selection of WCs are now available with 4.5 litre single flush cisterns which save up to 8.5 litres of water per flush, the company claims. Dual flush cisterns have two buttons, one delivers four litres and the larger button delivers six litres.
Water saving taps have been developed with the Ceramix Alto single lever basin mixer using Click Cartridge technology. This creates a resistance when flow is at 50%. Using these taps can save up to 5000 litres of water per year in an average bathroom.
Low capacity baths hold between 175 and 210 litres of water saving up to 15-28% of water.
Featuring a new top fixation system, the CeraVie kitchen mixer - part of Ideal Standard's Kitchen works range of taps - is designed to be quick to install and simple to maintain.
With a single lever ergonomic design CeraVie is easy to use, and the choice between standard swivel mode and a pull out multi function spout meets a range of needs.
The use of a ceramic disc valve in its construction is designed to provide a life-long drip free operation.
Expanding its range of kitchen and bathroom solutions, Ideal Standard has launched a new suite by British designer, Jasper Morrison.
Focusing on simplicity of aesthetics, the product range was produced to reflect every day products for every day life. The basin represents the simplicity of form of the suite but also the individually refined design applied by Morrison.
Created by the German design studio Artefakt, Moments is a fully integrated bathroom collection which is available from Ideal Standard.
Co-ordinating the elements of a bathroom - from ceramics and furniture to tap fittings and bath accessories - it conveys the company's concept of a 'Total Bathroom' through consistent design.
Functionality and use of space are attributes of the collection. For example, depending on a bathroom's size and shape, ceramic items can either stand alone, be attached to a wall or directly onto furniture. Wash basins, toilets and bidets can be floor-standing or wall-hung.
Other innovations include 'fold away' taps, bath shower heads which slide away for safety and tidiness, a detachable bath enclosure which pulls out to provide hidden storage space and a 'soft closing' toilet seat to eliminate the risk of slamming. The bath is available as a freestanding or built-in version with a sliding door panel for storage or an internally illuminated sidewall. In the shower range are five trays with frameless glass panels, a 'soft edge' design, and five control settings with multiple jets.
Taps with a 'Click' water-saving system have been launched by Ideal Standard. The company claims that the range can reduce water outflow by up to 50% through the use of cartridges, cutting consumption by six litres per minute while washing hands. When the lever is raised to bypass the water resistor, the flow can be set to between 50% and 100%. A temperature control function is also incorporated into the system which reduces energy costs and increases safety.
This year Ideal Standard celebrates 25 years of working with Robin Levien, Royal Designer for Industry.
Roger Cooper, Ideal Standard managing director, presented Robin with the company's traditional gold watch at an event held at the Design Museum.
Robin Levien is responsible for Studio, a suite he designed in 1982 which is still the company's best selling line. His latest project, the Create range, allows the choice of different style elements combined with platform products.
Designed as a space saving solution, Ideal Standard has introduced the Connect range of over-bath showers.
The product features an aluminium deflector bar which provides a guard against splashing. This bar can be applied to shaped baths where the straight lines of the screen along the inner curves of the bath can result in gaps and leaks.
The Connect chrome upgrade kit is available as an optional extra, offering practicality in the form of chrome plated handle and aluminium seal. The handle keeps fingerprints off of the glass and provides better grip when operating the shower system.
Part of the De Vere hotel group, the Village Hotel & Leisure Club in Hull has chosen Ideal Standard as its preferred supplier of bathroom products. Their smooth, tactile surface resist staining and damage from most household chemicals and abrasives.
Addressing the need for greater storage space in smaller areas, April?s product of the month is a new method for bathroom design. Based around three short projection basins to which can be added furniture cabinets and/or mirrors, the Tonic Guest concept has been devised by Ideal Standard.
Taken from its Art Design Sculpture collection, a basic Tonic Guest solution starts with just a basin and brassware rising to the full solution of basin, cabinet and mirrors with integrated fittings along with coordinating accessories aimed at providing large amounts of storage in minimal space. The range offers a brassware fitting integrated into the mirror.
The 'Guest' concept, based on the Tonic range will be officially unveiled at Bathrooms and Kitchens Expo (8-10 May 2005, ExCel London) providing a good chance to get a true feel for the products and to talk to the company and gain a full understanding of how each product is installed.
IMJ Property Holdings has chosen Ideal Standard as the supplier of sanitaryware products to refurbish the Sessions Day Spa in Beverley, Yorkshire. While the spa has a classical exterior, its interior has been designed in contemporary style. Ideal Standard proposed Tonic and the twenty 20 range from Sottini for the washroom areas. The Tonic 650mm basins are complemented by B?rma A1 basin mixers which, along with the wall mounted WCs were specified for a clean and contemporary feel. A novel Shower Tube was also installed. It stands 2200mm tall with a diameter of 100mm and delivers water through a Trevi Outline three function shower head.
Contemporary walk-in showers are offered in the newly introduced Rainshower shower enclosure range from Ideal-Standard. There are two model types. The first is a ?circular model?, which will become available in two styles ? peninsular and corner. For the second model type, the company offers a rectangular design which will be available as an alcove or a corner fixture. Among the features are the positioning of the water delivery controls on the circular model, which can be operated before the user walks into the shower, as well as being operated while the shower is being used.
