Downlights for I-Joists
Fully compliant fire-rated products for I-joists are available from JCC for both 30 and 60 minute ratings.
Timber floor systems can be constructed using I-joist technology, but as the timbers are thinner, there is less material to resist the passage of fire, meaning that luminaires suitable for solid timber floors may not be suitable for I-joist constructions.
The new FireGuard downlight meets the fire requirements of Part B as well as Part E of the Building Regulations. Compliant with the I-joists for 30 and 60 minutes, the FireGuard is designed to inhibit moisture and the flow of air and is compliant with the energy conservation requirements of Part L.

Addressing building regulations for maintaining the integrity of fire ceilings, the Fireguard fire-rated range of recessed downlights from JCC Lighting also adopt the latest air/moisture barrier and acoustic attenuation directives.
The product has been independently tested on 30, 60 and 90 minute fire ceiling types and are suitable for a wide range of applications.
The downlights have six large ventilation openings to ensure good performance. In the event of a fire, intumescent material seals the downlight so the fire ceiling is maintained for its full duration.

Available in both low voltage and mains halogen versions, JCC Lighting Products has introduced its 12V recessed bathroom downlights, rated to IP65. The low voltage 50W lamp is available in two styles with a removable flat glass diffuser or domed glass diffuser.
