West Pennine Housing Association has recntly completed the development of even sustainable houses in Rochdale that have used Strada radiators from Jaga Heating.
Designed to be kind on the environment and economical in the use of energy and water, the new three-storey dwellings are said to be intended to provide a housing solution for large, multi-generation families.
Part of Jaga's Energy Savers range, the Strada benefits from intelligent Low H?O technology based on the concepts of low mass and low water.
The radiators weigh only 10 per cent of a traditional steel panel radiator and have just one tenth the water content.
The low H?O convection element inside Strada's radiators produces better distribution and circulation of warm air so that the heat reaches even the furthest corners of a room to prevent the growth of mould in cold areas and ensure the occupant's comfort.
Safety is another key feature of the Strada which is particularly important for elderly residents or families with small children. The Strada has a surface temperature that remains safe to touch at all times.
Designed together with Dutch designer Joris Laarman, Jaga Heating Products has announced that its baroque-styled Heatwave is now in production testing and should be available in the UK from spring 2007.
The radiator is intended to marry decoration and functionality, providing a comfortable warmth while being the centrepiece of any room design.
Made from lightweight concrete and aluminium reinforced by glass fibre, the Jaga Heatwave is a modular decorative radiator designed for use with LPHW heating systems. It comprises up to four interconnecting shapes that can be arranged and extended to form individual designs.
Radiators from Jaga's Strada range have been selected for Manchester City Council's eco-home project. The low-H20 heat emitters operate using 100% natural convection, offering better air distribution and circulation. Controlled temperature across a room prevents mould growth and cold spots with a cool-touch front panel preventing burn injuries.
Installed in the newly-built Stonehouse Social Housing Project in Radley, Oxfordshire, is the Strada radiator by Jaga Heating Products.
Vale Housing Association specified the product as it provides a low water content, offering energy efficient warmth from a compact, robust unit with a safe-to-touch surface temperature. The product's Low-H20 element offers regulated heating and reduces energy consumption by approximately 10%.
Heat emitters ensure than an entire room is heated to the same controlled temperature, preventing humidity or mould formulation in cold spots. A two stage installation allowed for a cost effective solution for the housing association.
An alternative to trench heating, Jaga Heating Product's Knockonwood Freestanding DBE radiator is suitable for use in front of windows and large glazed areas.
A low water content radiator, it has a height of 210mm, and does not disturb the views from large windows. The technology has thermal activators that fit onto the low-water heat exchanger inside the radiator and provides climate control through the provision of automatic natural comfort heating and dynamic boost output. Comfort control is pre-programmed with eight different profiles. It can also assist in lowering carbon dioxide emissions.
Designed for healthcare environments, the Maxi LST anti-microbial from Jaga Heating Products is a fully tested and certified heating solution that does not support the spread of 'superbugs' such as MRSA.
The product works on contact with active silver ions in the coating disrupting the key cell functions, stopping the microbe from operating, growing or reproducing. Its surface temperature remains below 43?C at all times reducing the threat of accidental burns.
The range of Maxi radiators include models with two front grilles, a top and front grille, and wall mounted models with a front grille. For Jaga Maxi LST radiators, pencil-proof grilles can be specified to eliminate smaller objects or waste falling into or being inserted into the casing with locks provided to prevent unauthorised removal of the casing.
All LST models are available in metallic sandblast grey, white or traffic white finishes as standard in a choice of six profiles and a range of colourways.
Knock on wood Adding to the original oak, beech and maple finishes, Jaga has extended its Knockonwood radiator range to include bleached oak, bleached beech, mahogony, wenge coloured dark oak, walnut, greyed teak and the zebrano finishes. The new radiators feature the company?s Low H20 mass heat exchanger technology.
