A directional sound technology which, after being triggered by the fire system, attracts people towards its source, has been introduced. The device, known as ExitPoint, is the brainchild of KAC. The units generate sound pulses of low, medium and high broadband noise that makes it possible for people to identify the location of the source.
Extending its Call Point products, KAC has launched the IP67 sealed WCP Outdoor Call Point range. It is designed for use outdoors or in harsh environments where dust, dirt or moisture can be expected.
The WCP Call Point front fascia is a snap-on fixtureless press fit to the back box, reducing installation time.Three standard 20mm cable entries are fitted - two in the top and one in the bottom of the back box - allowing in-out or pass through wiring to be easily installed.
The range mirrors the MCP indoor range with the same terminal block. After connection to the system wiring the block is fitted with a continuity link, enabling the wiring to be tested for open, short circuit and earth fault, without the product itself in place. The operation of the point is interchanged between a break glass and a resetable element without additional components required.
The IP67 rating of the WCP exceeds the requirements of IPx3 specified in EN54 Part 11.
