An open-air roofing underlay called Permo Air has been launched by Klober.
The new underlay is said to be BBA approved and has the lowest water vapour resistance (0.08Mn/g) and highest water vapour transmission (2736 g/m²/day) which, the company says, is 13% better than any product currently available.
As insulations standards continue to improve and homes become more airtight, Permo Air allows vapour in the roof space to be removed quickly.
This, Klober stresses, is the best guarantee of avoiding roof space condensation.
Hydrophobically treated, Permo Air is suitable for cold and warm roofs and has exceptional nail tear resistance.
With insulation standards tightening as we move towards the Government’s 2016 target date for building carbon neutral homes, the risk of condensation in the roof space and building structure is increasing. Klober's 20-page Housebuilder Guide provides details of the company’s range of roofing membranes and accessories, and relates their use to the building of thermally efficient, well sealed homes.
It also explains how ventilation products and dry fix systems designed for universal use now make procurement and installation far simpler and how to provide the right balance of ventilation cost-effectively and in compliance current British Standards.
Easy-Form from Klober is a durable, UV stable, foil-based flashing for sealing wall and chimney abutments. The product is available in a variety of colours to match commonly used tiles and slates, including anthracite, brown, terracotta and lead grey.
Unlike standard flashings, the three standard widths are 250mm, 300mm and 450mm. A 250mm roll weighs less than 2 kilos.
The launch of Suntile by Klober is said to mark a fresh approach in light tube technology. Replacing an existing roof tile with a clear, UV stabilized durable, polycarbonate Suntile, the light source is unobtrusive, reducing the likelihood of planning objection.
The highly reflective, mirrored ducting is square in profile for maximum light efficiency, adjustable to suit the roof pitch and easy to install.
Blending into a roof line, Klober has introduced the Profile-Line range, providing a product that is almost invisible at ground level.
Traditionally, vent design has been based on practical rather than aesthetic considerations but increasingly demand for profiles to match large format concrete tiles has grown. With the requirement of blending unobtrusively within the roof line, the company has launched the new Profile-Line range.
Three profiles can be applied to fit either Double Roman, Double Pantile and large format 'slates' such as the Marley Modern. The vents are made of UV stable pvc with a 15 year performance guarantee and are also available in four standard colours.
Launched at Housebuilding 2005, Klober's new Uni-Line Tile Vent is claimed to be the first product of its type which can be used with most concrete interlocking tiles. Designed to be easy to fit and unobtrusive, it can be used at pitches as low as 20?. The product has a built in downpipe to provide a direct ventilation path into the roof space and an effective ventilation area of 10,000m?.
Offering a snow guard grid support that provides protection against snow sliding off pitched roofs during winter months, the Trapac safety range is available from Klober. Suitable for use with flat and profiled clay and concrete interlocking tiles, the system features grid brackets which allow for the insertion of a lightweight snow guard grid.
