The world famous March Stand at Goodwood Racecourse has been overhauled with Decothane Delta 25 - a hardwearing liquid roof coating from high performance weatherproofing supplier Liquid Plastics. The March Stand had begun to suffer from water ingress and was in need of a solution that was durable, cost effective and, critically, flame free.

Fairfax House refurbished - Liquid Plastics Ltd

Fairfax House, an office building, in the heart of Leeds’ commercial district, has been equipped with Decadex - a hardwearing exterior wall coating from Liquid Plastics. The building was undergoing a refurbishment programme. Part of the scheme was to give the dull 4,000 metre square rendered walls a much needed facelift. The new wall coating, however, needed to provide more than just good looks for the 1970s building. It had to be durable and hardwearing, offering years of maintenance-free service. It also needed to be a high build product, capable of covering the thick layer of sharp Canterbury Spa red aggregate. Liquid Plastics’ Decadex, a waterborne exterior wall coating, which is seven times stronger than traditional paint, was used in two contrasting shades of grey to completely change the external look of the building. Decadex forms a resistant, matt and durable elastomeric finish which tolerates substrate movement. The system is designed to provide decorative protection in the most aggressive conditions for at least 10 years. Decadex is claimed to have many advantages as an exterior wall coating because it provides protection against the affects of carbonation in reinforced concrete. It also retains a bright, clean, attractive appearance throughout its design life and will not embrittle with age or exposure to UV light. The product also conatains an active fungistatic system.

Liquid Plastics launches Green Roof system - Liquid Plastics Ltd

Following the claimed success of its cold fusion bonded built-up roofing and inverted roofing systems Liquid Plastics has launched a Green Roof system. The company says it has recognised the growth of the green roof market and the economic and environmental benefits it can bring. The new system includes the seamless and cold applied Decothane EC root resistant waterproofing system. This is reinforced with glass fibre matting and once cured a top coat is said to ensure a seamless waterproofing protection, which is guaranteed for 25 years.

Dam good slip resistance - Liquid Plastics Ltd

Providing waterproof protection for the public walkway across Baitings Dam in Halifax is a Flexideck Xeros System from Liquid Plastics. The product consists of an elastomeric base coat, an aggregate bond and a tough, durable top coat. A reinforced concrete deck allows water penetration into the plant rooms below. Because the walkway is open to the public, the waterproofing system also needed to be aesthetically pleasing and provide slip resistance with a skid inhibiting agent.

Decorative waterproofing systems - Liquid Plastics Ltd

Decorative waterproofing systems for balconies from Liquid Plastics have been used to enhance two apartments in Europe which suffered from leaking tiled walkways. A Balcons Quartz Screed system and Quartz Broadcast system have both been installed. These systems have a Decothane Balcons waterproofing layer which forms an elastomeric membrane which is sealed to provide watertightness.

Locking in the asbestos - Liquid Plastics Ltd

Used to refurbish the roof of Shaftesbury Community Centre in Newport is an Asbestolok system from Liquid Plastics. Leaking meant that repair work was required but as the roof could not be stripped because of the risk of releasing asbestos fibres into the air, the company's system was specified. The product was cold applied, allowing for work to be carried out with minimal disruption and without causing any risk of fire to the building's occupants. This also meant that the nearby school could remain open and work could continue inside the building itself. Integral to the system is the elastomeric Decothane membrane which seamlessly encapsulates the asbestos.

Complete car park protection - Liquid Plastics Ltd

Developed to provide comprehensive protection and waterproofing for car park decks, Liquid Plastics has introduced its Flexideck Xeros system. The system is liquid applied and includes skid inhibiting properties for safe, trafficable surfaces. Its moisture trigger top coat allows application even in damp environments and is also resistant to the chemicals typically found in car parks. For large, time sensitive projects, the system can be spray applied. It cures to form a seamless, elastomeric membrane on either concrete or asphalt car park decks. Available in a range of colours, it is uv stable, vapour premeable and hearwearing.

Waterproofing Wales - Liquid Plastics Ltd

Gwynedd Council in North Wales has refurbished the roof of a theatre using a cold applied and seamless Inverted Roof System from Liquid Plastics. It consists of a Decothane waterproofing membrane, inverted roof board insulation, a filtration layer, topped with ballast and pavers for a trafficable surface. It is liquid applied to be seamless.

Banking on a solution - Liquid Plastics Ltd

Yorkshire Bank Headquaters in Leeds now has a Liquid Plastic's Cold Fusion Bonded Built-up Roofing System. The existing system was stripped back to the concrete beam and block deck and a warm roof construction was installed consisting of a vapour control layer, Decotherm insulation, carrier membrane and a seamless Decothane waterproofing 'cap sheet'. It was adhered using the company's Decostik.

Decothane SP, a cold applied liquid roofing membrane from Liquid Plastics, has earned the Energy Star accreditation from the US Environmental Protection Agency. The roofing membrane met the criteria for initial solar reflectance and maintenance of solar reflectance. It effectively reflects UV rays and emits the majority of heat absorbed resulting in less transference of heat to the building below.

Especially useful for schools where work has to traditionally wait until the school holidays, Liquid Plastics offers the Cold Fusion Bonded Built-up Roofing System fully bonded with Decostik cold fusion adhesive. The zero flame, zero heat system is suitable for any building where hot works are normally used, allowing works to be carried out without having to close or evacuate the building. Cricket Green Community Special School in Mitcham, Surrey has recently employed the new system. The school had an asphalt roof that was allowing leaks into the classrooms below. Asphaltic, the contractor, chose the Cold Fusion system for its speed of installation and cold application. The Asphaltic team laid the flat board installation directly onto the existing asphalt roof, a carrier membrane was then placed over the insulation onto which went the cold applied Decothane seamless ?sap sheet?.

Arresting development - Liquid Plastics Ltd

Specialist coating manufacturer Liquid Plastics has supplied an industrial floor coating to the Police Helicopter Hangar at Gloucestershire airport. A high performance chemical resistant epoxy, Novo-Cote was applied to the entire area ? some 2000m² in total. It is both versatile and durable, and can be easily cleaned.
