A dry-fix solution to finishing the verge of a roof has been launched by
Manthorpe Building Products.
The SmartVerge Linear Dry Verge is designed for use on a 15° or 55° pitch roof with slates and interlocking plain tiles, and is said to provide a strong mechanical fixing method which secures tiles to the roof, preventing wind uplift problems.
The verge is manufactured from uPVC and features a selection of ridge end caps that keeps out birds and large insects. As it is mortar free, it can be fitted in all weather.
Joist Seal from Manthorpe Building Products has been designed in conjunction with industry experts to produce what the company says is the ultimate method of combating air leakage around timber joists and ‘l’ beams.
Suitable for both exterior and party walls, Joist Seal is said to be easy and fast and to install. The joist seal simply fits over the joist end before being built into the blockwork in the traditional way, forming an airtight box. During the drying-out period, the joist shrinks without the seal being affected. On site it offers substantial time savings and is a safe method of construction.
Endorsed by joist manufacturers, approved by Local Authorities’ Board of Agrement, Joist Seal is claimed to demonstrate exceptional performance in independent tests.
The suppliers describe the products as an ingenious, inexpensive solution to air leakage and complies with the revised Building Regulations Approved Document Part L eliminating air leakage around timber joists.
An efficient way of removing unwanted standing water into a domestic drain has been launched by Manthorpe Building Products with the SmartDrain.
Installation is achieved with the grate being clicked into place and the channels clipping together for on-site fabrication. Cutting guides allow the channel and grate to be cut to any length with corner features created by mitering the channel.
