Specified for a natural aesthetic, Marley Eternit Concrete Plain tiles have been used on a housing development in Hartlepool. The 20 home development at Throston was designed by the architects Stephenson, Johnson and Reilly.

Handcrafted natural clay plain tiles from Marley Eternit have helped meet various demands for a Cathedral Homes' dwelling in Buckinghamshire. The 68,000 Ashdown tiles were chosen to complement the traditional clay roof tiles in the vicinity and the mature brick elevations, without compromising on the tight budgetary parameters for the project.
Interlocking slates from Marley Roofing?s Dalestone range have been used on a self-build project in Cumbria. They were used to create a natural and authentic-looking roof to blend with the rural surroundings. Providing an authentic alternative to natural stone slate, Dalestone had the added advantage of eliminating the need for heavier timbers in the roof, which would have been required for natural slate.
Heritage plain tiles from Marley Roofing have been used to blend in with the surrounding environment and to enhance the local roofscape on two private houses in Hythe, Sounthampton. The tiles were specified in chestnut, one of three colours that have recently been added to the compay?s Heritage range. Using ?Colourlogic? technology the finish of the roof tile is fired onto the surface using infrared emitters. The results are designed to capture the aesthetic richness of traditional plain tiles, which will mellow over time to provide a weathered finish. Bracknell Roofing, who installed the tiles, also used Marley Roofing?s Ventilated Dry Ridge system which has been developed for ease of installation and durability. This is fixed to the roof without any need for mortar fixing.
Extending its Heritage Plain Tiles range, Marley Roofing has introduced three new colours. The latest additions to the range are available in chestnut, burnt heather and flame red. These colours are made with the company?s ColourLogic technology, a process by which the finish of the tile is fired onto the surface using infrared emitters. The result allows tiles to be weathered over time.
Suitable for all types of tiles and slates, Marley Roofing has extended its range of roofing accessories with the launch of a 10mm and 25mm Eaves Vent System. Designed to provide continuous 10mm or 25mm free vent areas to roof voids, the system is suitable for ventilation of the batten void where required.
Ease and speed of installation were key considerations in the specification of Marley Roofing?s RidgeFast system for a development of 38 homes in Torquay, Devon. The installation of the company?s Dry fix Systems, in addition to complementary tiles within its range, was made over some 2000m² of roofing for the social housing development. As its name suggests, the Dry Fix system can be fixed in all weather conditions as it is based on mechanical fixing components. This enables contractors to move onto the next phase of the project more quickly. Specified for use with Modern interlocking tiles on this development, the Dry Fix systems included the Modern Cloak Verge new Universal RidgeFast system. Simple to install in a roll out operation, RidgeFast features a ridge roll membrane and a fixing method that means it is not just compatible with other Marley products, but also universally compatible with other manufacturer?s standard ridges, tiles and slates.
Recent renovation of The Mill Cottages in Dewsbury has included the use of Dalestone single-lap stone-effect interlocking slate from Marley Roofing. The use of these slates has ensured the building blends seamlessly into the surrounding area by offering the aesthetic qualities of a completely natural product while providing all the economical and functional benefits associated with a high specification, interlocking slate. Made from 30% recycled material, Dalestone uses as little primary raw material as possible, offering an ?environmentally sound? roofing solution, the company claims. Further enhancing its traditional appearance, Dalestone is also available in three authentic shades. These are Flint, Harvest and Willow, which give specifiers the opportunity to blend with the venacular or create a traditional feel on new developments. The product is suited to various design requirements, and can be complemented by the company?s range of ventilation and dry-fix systems.
