All-in-one insulation and infill from Maxit Building Products is helping conservatory specialist Newlook Windows speed up construction and win over energy-conscious customers.
Maxit LWA Insulation Fill provides fill and insulation in one hit simply by laying the bags in which it is delivered directly into the conservatory base. The ready-to-install bags contain approximately 15 kg of special insulating lightweight aggregate which is manufactured by expanding clay at high temperatures.
The 50 litre bags are laid in the foundations, and the gaps infilled with loose LWA, prior to the installation of the damp-proof membrane and concrete door slab.
After digging out, one operative can install the insulating bags for a standard conservatory in as little as 30 minutes. Newlook has calculated that the bags typically trim build time by around one day.

The search for a smarter way for replacing floors in council-owned homes led a Midlands local authority to a clean and efficient solution from Maxit Building Products.
Providing a void filler and insulation in 'one hit', Maxit LWA Insulation Fill is particularly popular with local authorities and housing associations. Each bag contains 15kg of a special insulating lightweight aggregate manufactured by expanding clay at high temperatures.
The 50 litre bags are simply laid in the void and the gaps infilled with loose LWA, prior to the installation of the new floor slab.
Insulation and fill is provided quickly in a single process by laying the LWA bags, with no need for compaction, prior to installation of a damp roof membrane and a new concrete slab topped by a 50mm finishing screed.
Noble Automotive has completed an extensive refurbishment of its Leicestershire headquarters, which included the installation of Maxit self-levelling floor screed.
The use of the screed created a smooth flat required in the development and assembly areas at the Barwell facility.
Pump applied Floor 4655 was used as a levelling screed over an existing uneven concrete floor at an eight to 10mm thickness, followed by priming and an epoxy self-levelling finish.
Using photovoltaic technology, maxit airfresh reduces volatile organic compounds, airborne pollutants and improves air quality.
With the assistance of light, the product is able to break down organic molecules into carbon dioxide and water by means of a catalyst. The effectiveness of the degradation depends upon the light in the room.
A gypsum-based plaster, it removes pollutants and unpleasant odours, such as tobacco fumes. It is the first mineral plaster for indoor use, the company claims, and destroys pollutants without itself being degraded.
The product is now being used at a conference room at The Heath, complete with the airfresh wall coating, as a UK test centre.
Available as a decorative plaster, it can be supplied in various grit sizes and structures.
Light-activated air-freshening plaster from maxit has been applied to a Grade 2 listed building. The airfresh product uses photocatlytic technology to reduce volatile organic compounds, airborne pollutants and odours, coverting them into harmless components, improving air quality. Based on gypsum, the airfresh product is not harmful and can be applied safely to most internal walls.
