The latest Mono Hinge self-closing gate from Medway Galvanising is said to combine
advanced safety features with a spectrum of colourful options.
The gate, which opens to 110 degrees to prevent recoil and is free from finger traps, is now claimed to be the preferred choice for an increasing number of local authorities and businesses.
The model incorporates adjustable closing speeds and torsion settings for optimum safety and complies with BSEN 1176 for play equipment and DDA recommendations including wheelchair access.
In order to prevent the noise that is normally associated with security gates, Medway Galvanising has launched a hydraulically operated automatic gate closer that can be fitted to new gates, or retro-fitted to existing ones. Fitting between the gate leaf and hinge post, the unit is supplied with a tough galvanised finish that can be powder coated.
Both corrosion protection and a powder coat finish has been provided by Medway Galvanising for balcony sections on a new river front development in Battersea.
The contract was awarded to the company for its ability to deliver galvanising and a powder coat finish, eliminating the need for multiple suppliers. This provided the project with less damage from handling and transportation as well as a quicker turn around too.
The balcony and terrace balustrades are designed by the project architects and fabricated in sections before being sent to the company for an 85 micron coat of zinc and 60 micron coating of cured powder in light grey. They are then assembled by a team of skilled site erectors.
Any type of gate can be made more effective by installing one of the new Medway Gate Closers, says Medway Galvanising Company. Suitable for any steel or timber gate with a leaf weight up to 200kg, the closer ensures entrances shut automatically, without slamming, thereby preventing nuisance to neighbours. It controlled manner of closure also reduces the risk of injury to users.
