Specialist sub-contractor PCE has installed 94 prefabricated panels to a development by utilising FI Systems PermaFast range, which is manufactured off site and incorporates a masonry based face veneer. The panels were laid stack-bonded and pointed with a coloured mortar. With the constraints of the site and the weather conditions, the panels allowed for the fast track programme to be implemented.
Midlands site worker Mark Casey has become the first operative in the UK construction sector to qualify for a new NVQ awarded by the CITB/City and Guilds.
Mark works for concrete construction specialist PCE and has become the first person to qualify for the NVQ Level 2 in the Erection of Precast Concrete. This qualification was achieved on an accredited in-house course launched by the company's new training division to improve quality and safety standards within the industry.
The company launched its own course after finding that no other training providers were able to offer suitable qualifications.
