Designed to deliver safe hot water at home and in the community, Pegler has launched a new range of anti-scald Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVS). The TMVs operate by mixing hot and cold water inlet temperatures and then delivering a safe, controlled supply of hot water to the outlet being supplied. T-shaped in design, the new Peglertherm 404 TMV range has to be installed close to the outlet it is supplying. Delivered at a factory set 43?C, the product must be adjusted during commissioning to a safe hot water temperature. The valves are available for two pipe sizes, 15mm and 22mm, in the two options of 404 and 404UA. 404 TMVs have union type inlets and the 404UAs have 90?C angle valves with additional servicing features. Removable and replaceable check valves are sited in the valve body to prevent cross contamination of hot and cold water supplies. All component materials meet the requirements of the Water Regulations and WRAS Approval.

Developed to eradicate bacteria and 'super-bugs' in healthcare applications, Pegler has introduced the Kiniklene system, a permanent anti-bacterial coating for metals. The permanent coating is capable of killing common bacterial infections on contact, including MRSA. In Antimicrobial Activity Efficacy tests over a 24 hour period all the most common bacteria were eradicated and dealt with in excess of the 95% target set by the NHS, Pegler claims. The likelihood is that many products will be developed with such a coating in the coming years and a variety of applications can be envisaged. Already a range of products are available in the Performa Healthcare selection of taps and mixers, designed to meet many requirements in a hospital or broader healthcare environment.
