Underfloor heating at a Wimpey housing development in Exeter has been provided with the Polypipe. Overlay System in all 101 dwellings of the four-storey blocks. The floor system ? 18mm in depth ? can be laid directly onto a flat floor surface. Panels can be cut or sawn to shape, and once laid the flexible 12mm polybutylene pipe can be walked into the grooves. In the Wimpey development, the system has been laid in every room, and when the project is completed some 35,000m of polybutylene pipe will have been used to provide central heating for an area over 5000m?. All rooms are carpeted over except for the kitchen, where vinyl flooring is being installed.

Designed for use with Polystorm Lite modular wash storage units, Polypipe Building Products has introduced a new mini silt trap. Suitable for domestic applications, particularly in drainage systems for extensions and conservatories, the 320mm diameter silt trap will filter a large proportion of silt or detritus from the rainwater flow, allowing the main part of the drainage system to operate efficiently.

As a solution for drainage at a housing development in Edinburgh by David Wilson Homes, Polystorm Modular Water Storage Units were chosen. The units have a 40 tonnes compression strength and storage capacity of 190 litres. In total 15,000 modular drainage units were ordered. The pit was lined with an impermeable geo-membrane and a permeable membrane. Below the tank is a Hydrobreak fitting, limiting discharge.
