It's not a submersible,it's an Eco-vat !

Polypipe Civils It's not a submersible,it's an Eco-vat !A housing development at Old Cantley near Doncaster featured a system to recycle all rainwater drained from the 311m? of roof area for re-use for toilet flushing, in the washing machine and more unusually in the dish washer. This was achieved through a specially designed collection and redistribution system centred round a 7,500 litre capacity Eco-Vat system from Polypipe Building Products. The GRP unit which is said to be totally resistant to corrosion, was buried in the rear garden of the house with only the plate-surface of the tubular 'conning' tower at lawn level to provide ready access to the internal plumbing and electrics. The lightweight qualities of GRP were said to be invaluable since there was only a very narrow gap between the house and fence. Drained rainwater is piped from the gutters to the underground storage tank, filtered and then taken up to a header tank.

Colours for recycling

Polypipe Civils Colours for recyclingWith immediate effect, Polypipe Civils is changing the colour of its Polystorm units from black to grey. The change was due to black becoming a signifier for units being manufactured from recycled materials. The company believes that prime polymer, known for its performance properties, is the most appropriate product to fulfill the requirements of end use application. However, on lower load rated cells, used in non-trafficked applications, the company does use recycled plastics. The product consists of individual cells interlinked in any configuration required, giving greater flexibility in design. It has a minimum compression strength of 40 tonnes per square metre with a storage capacity of 190 litres.
