Dorchester?s showers sparkle

Ritec Ltd Dorchester?s showers sparkleShower enclosures at The Dorchester in London have been treated with Ritec?s ClearShield, a glass protection system developed to convert high maintenance unprotected glass into low maintenance glass. Glass showers and enclosures are particularly susceptible to surface damage and discolouration because of the many salts and minerals found in tap water. These bond to glass and eventually etch the surface. In addition, dirt and greasy substances, such as soap and shampoo, accumulate in the microscopic valleys of the glass surface, making cleaning difficult and labour intensive. Faced with this problem in artdeco style bathrooms on the second floor, The Dorchester?s inhouse engineering team appointed Preedy Glass to look for a solution. The glass was treated with ClearShield, creating a non-stick surface. As a result limescale and general dirt builds up half as fast and cannot bond to the glass. Alongside the aesthetic benefits, cleaning time and frequency are cut, on average, by 50%.
