Many elderly people and those with disabilities find getting in and out of a bath difficult, so Roman believe replacing their bath with a shower enclosure is one way to make life more comfortable. Among the company?s Wetrooms range is the Colossus walk-in, an enclosure which has been developed to offer an inclusive design for all user groups; youngsters, senior citizens and people with varying degrees of disability. The Colossus walk-in enclosure occupies the same wall and floor space as a UK standard bath. The shower tray is made from solid surface technology which means it can be installed straight onto the floor or beams, and facilitates a reduced height step into the enclosure. Further advantages of the enclosures include the absence of any awkward handles and enough space for a carer should assistance be required.
Shower enclosure specialist Roman is now offering a new frameless side panel which removes the top and bottom frames to open up the 8mm thick glass. The frameless side panel joins the new 1000mm hinged door to create a contemporary stylish look, with minimalist, free flowing lines. They are designed to be gentler on the eye and blend more into the bathroom through the removal of horizontal framing. In addition to its role as a side panel, it can also perform an inline panel extension to a shower door to create a larger rectangular space.
