High performance letterplate systems from Royde & Tucker are said to provide both fire, smoke and acoustic protection. The company said the systems meet the requirements set out in Part E and Part B of the Building Regulations.
The letterplate systems, which are suitable for fire doors rated to FD30s and FD60s, ensure the fire door integrity is maintained, protecting the occupants and property against smoke and fire damage.
The problem of reducing the passage of sound through a building could be tackled by Raven acoustic door seals, distributed by
Royde & Tucker.
Acoustic seals act as a barrier to airbourne sound within a building, and are particularly important in the increasing number of high density developments. They can be fitted in schools, hospitals, hotels, offices and homes and are suitable for FD30S and FD60S fire doors.
The Raven seals exceed the revised requirements outlined in Part E of the Building Regulations and remain compliant with Part B and Part M.

Designed to maximise available floor space, Krona pocket doors from Royde and Tucker can be substituted for most interior door requirements.
The door slides within the wall cavity, leaving greater available space. Any standard door blank can be used and fitting requires minimal on site adaption. Accessories include Klose, a self-closing mechanism, and hardwood timber door-jambs.
Distributed by Royde and Tucker, Raven Seals has launched RP35si, a new surface mounted version of the concealed automatic door seal. The acoustic, medium temperature smoke seal is suitable for fire rated doors up to FD60S. Comprised of an aluminium channel, a cover strip and an extruded silicone seal, it can be quickly installed.
Offering clean aesthetic lines, and compliance with Part M, Royde & Tucker has launched a flush mounted version of its Anza bolt. The concealed door bolt is flush mounted into the leading edge of the door, as opposed to the door leafs surface. This makes it particularly suitable for installations where users may have difficulty operating traditional lever action type flush bolts.
Anti-ligature hinges by Royde and Tucker have been tested and approved to industry standards.
The company's Hi-Load anti-ligature hinges are designed to preclude self-harm by preventing a ligature being secured over the knuckle or between the door and doorframe. They feature chamfered edges and a security faceplate fixed through the hinge leaf using tamper resistant Resistorx screws.
Two versions of the product are available: H102 and H125. Both have been approved to grade 4 of the DHF Technical Specification 001: Door mounted anti-ligature devices for Safety and Security Purposes.
H102 is a 100 by 72mm triple knuckle butt hinge in stainless steel with a maximum weight loading up to 120kg. The larger version, H125, is 125 by 102mm with a weight loading of 160kg.
Letterplate systems from Royde and Tucker meet the acoustic performance required for compliance with Part E of the Building Regulations. It achieves the 29dB/Rw sound reduction criteria and exceeds the standardised test when tested in conjunction with Raven RP55 smoke seals. For 54mm thick doors, the system achieves 31dB/Rw. The finishes available include stainless steel, anodised aluminium and polished brass.
Doors which open in one direction only but require to open in the opposite direction in certain situations, can be fitted with a pivot and emergency release bolt or stop from Royde and Tucker. The situation may be, for example, that an inward opening door for a disabled WC may need to open outwards, if an injury or emergency besets the person. Locks and bolts also incorporate an emergency release facility.
Hi-Load hinges from Royde & Tucker are opening doors in two hotels in the Grand Heritage Hotels Group after major extension work. The hinges in use have a bronze finish for doors in the public areas and a polished stainless steel finish in the service areas and kitchens. The Certifire approved hinges with not wear, the company says, and require little maintenance.
Door and window sealing systems have been added to the product range of Royde & Tucker, the manufacturer of architectural door hardware. The company has joined forces with Raven to service the UK and European markets. Raven sealing systems are designed to seal against noise, smoke and fire, weather or draught and light. Royde & Tucker believe that they make a significant contribution to the safety and well-being of a buildings occupants. Like its Hi-Load hinges, the company now has another range of products which can be factory fitted by door manufacturers. The availability of anodised profiles, including silver and bronze as standard or special colours to order means that they can be matched to any door finish or interior design.
Asprey Garrard, the upmarket jewellers in London?s New Bond Street, has completed a refurbishment designed by architect Foster & Partners. For the project, Trapex Hardware supplied all the period and special door ironmongery, including Hi- Load hinges.
