Two commercial office developments requiring unique roofing solutons have been serviced by Cemex.
Developers, Gladmans, orginally specified Russell Roof Tiles for Cygnet Court in Stratford on Avon.
The company was so impressed by the results that it extended the relationship to Parker Court in Staffordshire. The two developments required different roofing solutions to complement the architecture of the buildings. The Russell range includes a selection of high quality concrete roof tiles, ridge tiles and systems in a choice of colours and finishes to meet the demands of most applications.
Offering the practicalities of roof ventilation, the Russvent concrete tile ventilator from Russell Roof Tiles also has the aesthetics and ease of installation of a normal roof tile.
Russvent is designed for ventilation of roof space, and Soil Vent Pipe or mechanical vent extract, complementing the Russell Imperial Range in addition to the Grampian Tile from the Commercial range.
The company claims to be the only manufacturer to produce concrete vent tiles with an inline plastic vent inset into the tile. They are installed using the same fixing techniques as the main tiles, resulting in a flush vent that weathers at the same rate as surrounding tiles, giving a long-lasting uniform appearance as the roof ages.
Offering a number of aesthetic and environmental benefits, the Lothian from Russell Roof Tiles will be installed on a new housing development in Glasgow.
Some 40,000 tiles in slate grey were specified for the project. The product gives the impression of being two smaller plain tiles due to a simulated centre joint.
Due to the use of fewer tiles, the contractor benefits from reduced installation time and reduced labour cost. In addition, 25% more tiles can be loaded onto one pallet, resulting in a reduction of supply chain outlay due to the use of fewer pallets.
The range is manufactured using eco-friendly methods which require 40% less raw material than plain tiles.
Pinewood Court, a former Victorian hospital building in Solihull has been converted to office space finished with Edwardian Russet roof tiles from Russell Roof Tiles. The tiles were chosen to comply with stringent planning regulations which required a tile that would complement the age and styling of the building whilst blending with surrounding handmade tiles. Edwardian Russet, on of four varieties in the Heritage range, is created from a different mix of colours for each blend, to produce a random colouring for individual projects.
Complementing slates on surrounding properties, Lothian Tiles from Russell Roof Tiles have been specified for a new housing project in the East Midlands. The tiles? thinner leading edge provided an accurate representation of local products and, in a matt finish, satified planning restrictions.
Covering a large area whilst giving the impression of two smaller tiles, the Lothian from Russell Roof Tiles are designed to reduce installation time and labour cost. The tile also does not have a restriction on lap, allowing it to be lapped up to 170mm with continuous dry verge.
