Fitted with five new USP lift positioning systems from Schmersal, an 11-storey office block has undergone a modernisation including changes to the lift controls and door gear motors for all five cars.
It is a solution for travel heights from 30m to 130m and lift speeds up to 8m/sec. It consists of a transmitter mounted on the cabin and a receiver that can be fitted to either the shaft pit or shaft head. These are linked by a signal wire that has one damper fitted at the receiver end and another fixed at the bottom end of the shaft.
It sends a trigger impulse from the receiver to the transmitter which generates an ultrasonic pulse. The receiver's microprocessor converts the pulse into an electronic positioning value detected as data by the control unit.
