UK first for Schuco international - Schuco International

A UK first: It has been revealed that, for the first time in the UK, approved, purpose-made, aluminium fire-resisting windows that are identical in appearance to standard windows are now available as part of the expanding AWS range from Schüco International. The company says their clean modern look stands in sharp contrast to present adaptations of fire doors. The new windows, known as AWS 60 FR 30 and AWS 70 FR 30, offer automatic self-locking in the event of a fire but can also be specified with a hold-open function for use in combination with a smoke detector. Both types have 30-minute ratings and have been tested in line with EN 1634 for spread of flame and EN 1364 for protection against heat radiation. The windows are available with either a 60 mm or 70mm frame depth.

Building envelope and solar energy products specialist - Schuco International

Building envelope and solar energy products specialist, Schüco International, has installed aluminium curtain walling and window systems for a newly constituted primary school in South Wales. The systems were installed in a new building purpose-designed by Caerphilly Borough Council Architects Department.

Value View - Schuco International

Schüco Jansen has added a new product to its range of stainless steel windows, doors and fixed glazing systems. The Economy 50 is said to be ideal for use in normal, non-aggressive environments for an aesthetically pleasing yet economical finish. The Economy 50 range is made up of non-thermally broken profiles and remains sturdy whilst maintaining a narrow siteline. Because it is based on the Economy 60 range, designers can combine Economy 50 with an existing Economy 60 setup. Designed with straightforward profile geometry and stability in mind, the new series offers single and double-leaf door options with moving and/or fixed glazed top lights and side lights. Schüco Jansen Economy 50 door construction use a flush-fitted design with shadow joints on all sides.

Window system updated with SHEVS - Schuco International

A new aluminium window system from Schüco has been updated with the addition of a range of certified smoke and heat exhaust ventilation systems (SHEVS). These include a comprehensive choice of inward and outward opening windows for vertical façades and skylights. SHEVS technology is designed to automatically evacuate smoke and heat from a building in order to allow its occupants more time to escape in the event of fire. When combined with temperature or CO² sensors or other building management systems, the same aluminium window systems may be used for regular natural ventilation or internal climate control. The opening types comprise inward opening bottom hung, inward opening side hung, outward opening top hung, outward opening side hung and outward opening roof vent. Working closely with automation specialist SE Controls, Schüco ensures that all installations achieve CE marking in accordance with European standards.

Taking the tour - Schuco International

System-based construction specialist Sch?co recently played host to a group of more than 250 industry professionals during the BAU exhibition in Germany. The gathering of architects, main contractors and fabricators enjoyed a day at the show where they were treated to a presentation on the launch of the company's latest product offering, the Sch?co Window AWS system. Guests then toured the company stand where the theme was energy saving and generating energy. They were able to see a number of other products that provide future-proofing for sustainable buildings.

New aluminium system - Schuco International

Designed to be a one-system solution for security and thermal performance, the new Schuco Jansen Aluminium Window System meets new European regulations. Concealed fittings are included as standard throughout and the range includes a fire-resisting window. The system offers u-values down to 1.4W/m?K and has been designed with frame depths from 50mm to 75mm. It incorporates a range of inward and outward opening windows with a variety of ancillary profiles.

Concealing the fittings - Schuco International

Designed for tilt/turn and inward-opening side-hung and double-leaf windows, a new range of concealed fittings for steel window types has been launched from Schuco Jansen. Using the new fittings it is possible to install a Janisol tilt/turn window with a combined outer frame/vent frame face width of 82.5mm. The new fittings are able to support a leaf weight of 100kg and may be fitted to windows with a maximum leaf width of 1400mm and a height of 2300mm. They are suitable for Janisol, Janisol Primo thermally insulated windows, and the non-thermally insulated Economy 50 range which is suitable for use in combination with secondary glazing.

Sliding windows - Schuco International

Vertical sliding windows have been added to Sch?co's Royal S range of aluminium window systems. Available in two versions, the 114 HW has sliding upper and lower vents, while the 109 HW single slider has a fixed lower vent. The products have thermally broken construction and deliver a u-value of 2.1W/m?K. They incorporate a pvc interlock with integrated brush seal for thermal performance.

Concealed motor will offer greater aesthetical appeal - Schuco International

Designed to improve the aesthetic appeal of external louvres, the operating motor in Sch?co's SunControl Active range of moveable large-louvre shading systems is entirely concealed from view. This is achieved as the motor is small enough to fit in the support mullion.Besides size, the motor is also more powerful than previous models, reducing the number of motors per louvre. A single motor can control a louvre up to 305mm deep with a span of over 4.4m horizontally or over 5m vertically. The motor operates a gear system which gives the louvre the ability to rotate through 360? irrespective of whether it is mounted in the horizontal or vertical plane. It can also be linked to sensor-reactive motor controls which alter the angle of the blades in response to external factors such as brightness.

Product of the Month - Schuco International

Providing an alternative option for the replacement steel window for renovation and refurbishment projects, Sch?co Jansen's Janisol Renovation Window is Building Products' final Products of the Month for 2005. The new window has been developed to preserve the look of classic hot rolled steel windows whilst also offering an improved performance and appearance thanks to concealed fitting components. Its thermally insulated construction incorporates a 24mm double-glazed unit and delivers a typical u-value of 2.3W/mK. Part of the Janisol Primo window system, the Renovation Window offers narrow sight lines of 82.5mm and a narrow thermally insulated transom profile with a face width of 15mm. Its L-shaped glazing bead adds another dimension of authenticity and aluminium sash bar profiles are available as add-ons for transom imitations.

Design outside the box - Schuco International

Offering specially designed structural or aesthetic steel profiles, a new precision welding service - Jansen Personal Profiles - has been introduced by Sch?co Jansen. Claimed to be a first for the industry, the new service allows a bespoke profile to be produced at a vastly reduced cost when compared to conventional roll-box methods. The Personal Profiles service takes different elements from the company's standard range of profiles and using computer-controlled robotic equipment, laser welds them together to form a new bespoke version. The weld bead is virtually invisible and, because it has been laser welded, there is no distortion to the profile, the company claims. If required, steel plates, tube or box sections can be grafted onto standard profiles.

Fire protection fa?ade - Schuco International

With a full 30min E and EI rating, a new fire protection fa?ade has been introduced by Sch?co International. Designated the FW50+BF, the slimline fa?ade system has a face width of 50mm and is identical in appearance to the company's FW50+ fa?ade with which it shares a number of accessories. A 60mm version is also available in the form of FW60+BF. The system includes the potential for a facetted option with variable inside and outside angles that allow it to be used as a curving structure. A three-level mullion drainage system ensures efficient ventilation and moisture management. The design of the facade profile incorporates fireboard which liberates water under heat and cools the aluminium. Steel pressure plates ensure that the glass is held securely in place in the event of a fire as well as in everyday use, while intumescent strips form an additional fire barrier.

Setting new standards - Schuco International

Claimed to be the first complete system offering on the market to meet EN 1210 standard which will become mandatory in 2006, Sch?co International has introduced SHEVS, a new smoke and heat ventilation system. The system, comprising the window, actuators and controls, offers a choice in the range of window systems and in types of actuators and accessories. In the event of a fire, sensors automatically trigger the actuator and the window openings, helping to remove heat and smoke. This can also aid the work of the rescue services, increasing the efficacy of emergency exits by keeping them smoke free. Also a practical proposition for normal ventilation and building climate control, SHEVS is applicable across the company's Royal S and Royal C window openings whether inward or outward opening, top, bottom or side-hung.

Offering fire-resistance integrity and insulation rating of 60 minutes, Firestop II EI 60 has been launched by Schuco International. An alternative version offering a 60 minute fire-resistance integrity only rating is also available. Both have the same profile width as the company's Royal S65 window and door system, but offers protection against fire, smoke and unauthorised entry. They can be fitted with electronic locking and can be glazed with fire-resistant glass.

Streamlined look from hinges - Schuco International

Concealed hinge fittings in the AvanTec range from, Schuco International, are now offered on the company?s Royal S and Royal C ranges of aluminium windows. By obviating the need for bulky exposed hinges, the new fitting gives the windows a narrow inner face width and a streamlined look. Made from stainless steel, the fittings can support a vent of up to 130kg. They may be used in conjunction with the company?s electronic window opening system. In addition, the fittings allow a window to open to 90deg. ? protecting neighbouring glass from damage by the vent swinging back on itself.
