Cost effective and fast way to create insulated suspended ground floors - Springvale EPS Ltd

With its Beamshield Plus product, Springvale has brought a cost-effective and fast way to create insulated suspended ground floors to the industry. Beamshield Plus is manufactured from high-strength EPS, and negates the need for concrete blocks, fitting between and below concrete T beams to provide both the total floor insulation and a formwork on which to lay the structural screed.

Hot platinum - Springvale EPS Ltd

Hall 6, Stand B29 Part L compliance is affirmed by Springvale's Platinum product range. New products from the company include a Structurally Insulated Panel System called Unidek, and the 50mm Platinum Alreflex partial cavity wall insulation board, which helps builders achieve Part L 2006 compliance without expanding the cavity beyond 100mm.

Meeting thermal targets - Springvale EPS Ltd

Now available from Springvale EPS is an improved version of its Floorshield insulation board which enables designers and contractors to meet new thermal targets set by the recent amendments to Approved Document L of the Building Regulations. Manufactured from high performance EPS, Platinum Floorshield is a rigid insulation panel that offers a 20% improvement in thermal performance over white expanded polystyrene alternatives, the company claims. Produced in a range of densities, the grey panels are intended for use on both ground supported and suspended concrete floors. They may also be used as rigid insulation boards fitted between joists in suspended timber floors. The product is available in boards of 2400 by 1200mm, and a range of thicknesses from 25 to 100mm. BBA certified, the product is CFC and HCFC free, non-tonic, and non-irritant. On the BRE EcoPoints initiative, it scored 0.043 over a 60 year lifespan.

Cost savings and the ability to meet Part L of the Building Regulations are offered with the Platinum Floorshield from Springvale. This system is made from expanded polystyrene, with minute particles of graphite incorporated into the raw material, which is said to provide up to 20% better thermal insulation performance than conventional white EPS. According to the company, when comparing with a polyurethane solution, a small amount of extra insulation thickness can save some 20-30% on the total cost of insulation. The product is also claimed to be easier to cut andfix compared to other systems.
