Waverley station development - Stannah Lifts Ltd

Stannah Lift Services, based in Glasgow, have installed a bespoke scenic passenger lift into Edinburgh Waverley Station. The Stannah 16 person hydraulic lift provides access from the central level to the new Platforms 1 and 20 below. This bespoke lift was designed by Stannah specifically for its unique location and has been built to Network Rail specifications. The fully automatic lift car moves within a glass-clad structure, supported by a steel framed shaft. It provides a scenic view over the station that sits adjacent to Princes Street, Edinburgh.

13 person passenger lift in theatre - Stannah Lifts Ltd

An MX finish passenger lift from Stannah has been installed into the newly refurbished Eastwood Park Theatre in East Renfrewshire. The 13 person lift is said to be a stylish, well lit car which complies with DDA requirements. The EN81-70 has features such as speech synthesisers, tactile push buttons and digital display units.

Upwardly mobile - Stannah Lifts Ltd

Lift shaft - Stannah Lifts Ltd

Supplied in its own structure to fit almost anywhere within a building, the Stannah FX does not require a specially constructed lift shaft on an exterior load bearing structural wall, unlike most fully automatic passenger lifts. The 6-13 person lifts, built to EN81-70 specifications, are offered in a time and cost effective structure that only requires fixing at each floor level. It can be installed within existing lift wells and there is no need for a lifting beam or scaffolding.

Carrying out major lift refurbishment work throughout the United Kingdom, Stannah Lift Services manages each project locally from one of eleven nationwide branches. These are supported by the company's national Operations Support Group. Lifting the British standard - Stannah Lifts Ltd

Lifts from Stannah Lifts have been supplied to the heritage project where the ss Great Britain sits in her original dry dock in the Great Western Dockyard. The installation of the lift was challenging since it had to travel through the centre of the ship and through a glass plate in order to enter the sealed dry dock below. In total Stannah supplied four lifts; one three stop passenger lift in the dockside museum and three vertical platform lifts on board and beside the ship. All the lifts were installed to meet the requirements of the Disability discrimination Act, ensuring the entire conservation project could be accessed by those with disabilities, including wheelchair users.

Outdoors enthusiasts can take a lift - Stannah Lifts Ltd

Helping TowSure, specialist in towing and leisure, meet the requirements of the DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) and ensure all customers can reach the goods on display, Stannah Lifts has installed a vertical platform lift. TowSure in Southampton is a two-floored retail centre for outdoor pursuit enthusiasts. The ground floor houses a trade shop for marine, gas, water and cycle accessories, whilst the mezzanine level above is a ski shop. The upper floor is reached by a stairway or, for those unable to negotiate the stairs, by a blue Midilift SL. The Midilift SL is one of a range of Stannah access lifts that includes vertical platform lifts travelling up to 6.5m and inclined platform stairlifts for individual travel over straight and curved stairways.

Installed to provide a link between an entertainment suite and main kitchen at The Manor House Hotel in Castle Combe Wiltshire, a Stannah Goodsmaster goods-only lift is now in service. Previously the room could only be used for meetings without catering as there was no access to the kitchens, but since the lift has been installed it can now be offered as a party venue for conferences, banqueting, private dining and weddings.

All passengers, including those with disabilities, can now benefit from improved lift performance at Bristol Temple Meads station following Stannah Lift Services refurbishment of three existing lifts at the station.
