Stiebel Eltron has made advances in its Open-Outlet water storage heater range. The company's compact heaters have capacities ranging from five to 15 litres and provide a powerful source of hot water.
For applications in any domestic or commercial site, the new water storage heaters feature both Thermo-Stop and Anti-Drip technologies to give greater efficiency in operation and no drips, which waste both energy and water.
Taking on board energy efficiency concerns, its efficient thermal insulation, combined with the Thermo-Stop, offers hot water on a continuous basis with almost zero energy losses. Water is maintained at a set temperature via the thermostat, with ranges between 35°C and 85°C, and an energy saving setting. The heaters can be sited above or below sinks, with over sink units available with inlet valve and outlet spouts.
Renewable, geothermal energy converting pumps are being supplied by Stiebel Eltron to more than 41 new households. The development on the Isle of Skye is to use naturally occurring energy from Brine and Water source heat pumps.
The system operates by drawing latent energy from the water and ground which is transported to the pump heat-exchanger. Containing liquid refrigerant, the exchanger absorbs the heat and evaporates. The compressor draws the gaseous process inside for compressing and a second heat exchanger draws the heat into the heating circuit before an expansion valve reduces pressure.
Available through Applied Energy, the Stiebel Eltron range of water and space heating products includes low-to-zero carbon technologies such as solar thermal collectors and heat pump systems. The range includes hot water storage heaters of up to 150 litres, instant water heaters and floor mounted hot water storage up to a 400 litres capacity. Heating products include panel heaters and hand dryers.
