As part of its ongoing maintenance requirements, Wrekin Housing Trust has recently carried out improvements at Churchill Court in Telford, including replacing the traditional wooden doors of the storage sheds with more modern GRP doors from Stormking. Stormking have launched a range of reproduction stone cills to add to its portfolio of products for modern methods of construction. Made from GRP using Stormking's own closed mould resin transfer technology, the cills are lightweight yet extremely robust and durable. The company says the new reproduction stone cills are exceptionally quick and easy to fix and are available in Portland, Bath and York finishes. They are designed to be face fixed, using all weather adhesive, after brick render work has been completed. The new cills are also said to be suitable for all weather site working and for all types of construction. Stormking's reproductions stone cills are made to customer size specifications from a range of standard sizes and Stormking also offer a full take off service if required. Following extensive site trials, the new cills have been used highly successfully by Kings Oak Homes for a mixed dwellings development in Northampton.

The Irish company is headed by Liam Kelly who has experience of the GRP market and is well known in the industry in Ireland. He will manage the Irish operation, covering private house builders and public sector markets where the time and cost saving features of the Stormking products range have proved popular. Stormking claims to have led the way in developing products for these markets where modern building methods and materials are preferred to traditional building products which tend to be time consuming and lack the availability of skilled tradesmen. Liam and his team will offer the full Stormking product portfolio which also includes canopies, entrance porch-ways, chimneys and door surrounds.

The system fixing strip is fitted to a plywood board trim covered with DPM fixed to the top of the wall with the coping simply clipping into place onto the system. External and internal angles, stop-ends and intersections are all supplied as part of the system, together with the clip fasteners themselves.

Renovation of the roof tower of a parish hall in Staffordshire has been achieved with the use of Stormking. The company provided another tower from their standard range which was almost identical to the original. Its lightweight properties means it creates no stress on the supporting roof timbers and it features the same octagonal shape and design detailing as the original tower.

Side cheek framing is bonded to the GRP 'skin' and is positioned in line with the support trimming rafters and secured in place.
